Melissa,

Your board game sounds so cool! Your idea for creating a weathered look is very clever; hope you don't mind if I "steal" it sometime.

I would also like to see girls' games and pastimes. I made dominoes for my Samantha and I've been thinking of making a mini chess set as well -- though this will have to be in the future, as I have several other projects going right now.

I would LOVE to see a mini monopoly game that had all the same things as the regular-sized game.

Cate, sure you may use my ideas--I'm glad to share them and even happier when people enjoy them!

When I was looking at wood pieces I also saw chess pieces, and got little houses (Monopoly-like houses) in the wood grab bag. Unfortunately, both were full size. I wonder if some stores would have them in miniature. It's really fun to see what you can find. It would be cool to see a mini Monopoly game--if anyone makes one, please share photos!

I think the hoop and ball and stick were more popular in Felicity's time. Sturbridge Village is a bit earlier than Kirsten's time but there are no people there just buildings from all over New England during the ninteenth century. I bet you could find a book in the library about the history of games. Plimoth Plantation's website has an article on Pilgrim games. Helped me a lot in me research for my doll project!

This is a very old thread but I was just browsing old posts and thought it was so interesting. I'd love to take this thread further and find out what you all think. Any other ideas on board games the historical girls would have played?

Unfortunately I don't have anything to add, but I did want to thank you for brining this thread back up. I would love to have more games for my dolls and these are great posts!

I did think of one thing, though it would be for more modern dolls as the pieces are plastic. It is a tiny checker set on a mat from Cracker Barrel. It is a mini version of the checkers on a rug that is so popular there.

Felicity might have play Badminton. She definitely would have played with a wooden hoop toy.
